Default Why doesn't my bone creature not always come forth?

I have a secondary profession of being a necomancer and have 5 necro spells. One of them is summoning a beasty who helps me in battle. I guess it is called a bone creature. The problem is, is that when I really need him I press the appropiate action number key on my keypad and nothing happens? He is a no show? This really hurts when I'm fighting off 3 hostile enemies by myself. He helps me about 3 out of 10 times.NEVER has he helped me in the catacombs. So what is wrong or should I say am I doing something wrong? Has anyone elese had this same problem?

An animation skill does not summon a minion. It uses an exploitable corpse in the area to make a minion. If there are no corpses near you, it can't make one. Also, not all enemies leave exploitable corpses. In the Catacombs, for example, the Restless Corpses don't leave exploitable corpses, so you can't make a minion from them. Gargoyles and Devourers do leave exploitable corpses and you can make minions from their dead bodies. An exploitable corpse can only be used once to make a minion. You can see which bodies have been used because they turn black.

Well, if you actually READ the skill it animates a corpse (something you have killed) into the bone minion. You have to kill something first. AND what you kill has to be able to leave a corpse I.E not undead. Also make sure you have attributes in death magic or else your minions will be really weak and low lvl.

Settle down. He made a valid point though. Reading the skill descriptions would answer many questions. THe skills tell you what they do and how they do it.

"Full: Exploit nearest corpse to animate a level 1...14 bone horror.

Concise: Creates a level 1...14 bone horror. Exploits a fresh corpse."

Exploit and Corpse are the 2 key words. Exploit means you make use of it, and Corpse means the dead body of something. So if you have a dead body, and have not already used it, you can animate a Bone Horror. Not understanding the skills description is fine, but from your question, you didn't seem to have read that description.

For future reference, you can make one thread with multiple questions.
